Experience the exquisite beauty of New Mexico and surrounding territory with a pre-conference recreational activity that promises plenty of excitement.
The two-day river raft expedition will begin west of Santa Fe and end at Cochiti Lake. Participants will learn about the rich Native history taught by Arnold Herrera, a storyteller from Cochiti pueblo. Participants will also learn about what is currently at stake for the Rio Grande tribes in the area. Grass roots environmentalist/activists, Marian Naranjo will speak to these issues on the outdoor educational experience. This exciting adventure will begin on Wednesday, August 4th and end on Thursday, August 5th, 2010.
Cost: $300 per person (18 years or older).
