To
complete our goals, the AAIP Diabetes program has partnered with
diabetes education and prevention leaders in Indian Country. Diabetes
Program Affiliates include:
Partnership Network Affiliates (PNAs)
PNAs
are leaders in their communities on raising awareness of diabetes and
are always looking for new and improved approaches to fighting the
diabetes epidemic. AAIP supports the PNAs by providing them with the
most current diabetes information and AIAN National Diabetes Education
Program (NDEP) campaigns through quarterly mailings and the AAIP
Diabetes Program listserv. PNAs also keep AAIP and the rest of the PNA
Network, presently over 1200 affiliates, connected on the education and

Regional Member Affiliates (RMAs)
RMAs
are physicians located within the twelve I.H.S. regions that work with
tribal populations. They are a valuable resource for furthering
dissemination efforts and for gathering knowledge of diabetes trends in
Indian Country. RMAs disseminate NDEP materials, develop and implement
healthy lifestyle action plans in their community, present at national
and regional conferences and more! To learn more about how to become an

Coalition Affiliates (CAs)
CAs
are AIAN community-based organizations that work with established
diabetes programs in empowering their communities to healthier
lifestyle practices, through diabetes education and prevention. The
AAIP Diabetes Program provides Coalition Affiliates with technical
assistance for their organizations, a nation-wide network to address
issues and share successes, and additional resources to continue
diabetes education efforts on a community level.
