MARGARET KNIGHT/Executive Director is a member of the Pueblo of Laguna, New Mexico and has worked for AAIP since 1988. Before joining AAIP, she worked for the Native American Center in Oklahoma City . Margaret has served as the AAIP Executive Director since 1996. She is active in the Oklahoma City Indian community serving in a number of leadership capacities.

Ms. Moran received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science form
Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2007. She plans to obtain her Master's
Degree in Public Health from the University of Oklahoma and work with Native
communities on health issues.

Kelly joined the AAIP in June of 2007. She has been a resident of Oklahoma for the past seventeen years. She attended the University of Texas in San Antonio and plans to finish her Business degree at OU.

Ms. Crawford is in her last year of undergraduate at Oklahoma University majoring in Political Science. She joined AAIP in 2004, and upon graduating she intends to use her political savvy to improve the lives of Native peoples in all of the Americas.

NOELLE EDWARDS/Interim Diabetes Program Director
Noelle received her Master of Public Health in Health Promotion from San Diego State University in 2006. Her previous work experience includes coordinating the San Diego Diabetes Coalition and working with childhood obesity prevention for Kaiser Permanente in the Latino community of San Diego. Noelle looks forward to continuing to work with diabetes prevention in the Native American community.

GARY LANKFORD/ Diabetes Program Coalition Liaison and Outreach Specialist.
(Cherokee) Gary received his BA in Film and Video Studies with a Minor in Communications from the University of Oklahoma. He previously worked for the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. Gary is very glad to be working with AAIP and looks forward to working with the AAIP Diabetes Program to enact programs for diabetes prevention and control among Native American communities.

GLORIA ZUNIGA, RN/HIV AIDS Education & Awareness Program Director (Cheyenne)
Ms. Zuniga holds a BSN/RN from Oklahoma University. She has been with AAIP since 1999. Gloria has worked in the field of HIV/AIDS for 21 years and is considered one of the pioneers of prevention and education on HIV/AIDS for Native American peoples having won numerous awards for her accomplishments in the process.

ROBERT WHITEBIRD III/Family Wellness Program Director (Quapaw)
Mr. Whitebird graduated from University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s degree of Arts and Sciences in Political Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Marketing. He joined AAIP in 2004, previously working as Coordinator of Native American Recruitment at the University of Oklahoma and Program Director of Higher Education for the Comanche Nation.

Anna Cahill/Family Wellness and Youth in Distress Program Assistant

Ms Cahill joined AAIP in December of 2007. She graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in May 2003 with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology. Her previous work experience includes working for the Mentor Network in which she was coordinator for a program that served individuals with developmental disabilities. Prior to that Ms. Cahill worked for the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. While there she serves in the capacity of Program Coordinator for the Family Preservation Program in the Children and Family Services Department. Ms. Cahill is looking forward to working again with a Native population and serving AAIP to her fullest abilities.

LUCINDA MYERS/NNAYI Program Director (Mvskoke)
Lucinda is a 2002 graduate of the University of Oklahoma where she obtained her Master of Social Work degree with an emphasis in administration and community planning.
She was previously employed with St. Louis County Government where she was involved in a 1.5 million dollar demonstration project focused on community reintegration strategies for youth offenders. During her employment with St. Louis County Government, she served as a conflict resolution mediator to over 4,000 county employees. Lucinda has work experience in case management, conference coordination, as well a designing curriculum for youth development training. In addition, she received a certificate in public speaking and leadership development and was recognized by the State of Oklahoma House of Representatives and Senate for her volunteer work in the community in 2002.

Philip T. Johnson/Student Recruiter

Philip is a 1999 graduate of Campbell University (Buies Creek, NC) where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Philosophy & Religion, with a minor in English, all in a focal emphasis of communications, logic, and professional writing. His previous employment includes extensive experience in the sector of higher education, in particular as the Assistant Director of Admissions & Dean of Freshman Student Advisement; Registration & Reference Director; and Executive Editor of Academic Research, at various colleges and universities including Philander Smith College (AR); UNC-Chapel Hill; and Vanderbilt University. During his employment at Philander Smith College, Philip was recognized as an “Outstanding Student Services Employee” as he recruited, academically advised, and mentored the largest incoming freshman class on record in 2004-2005. Upon completion of his Master’s Degree in Education from The University of Oklahoma, Philip aspires to continue his work on behalf of under-funded and underrepresented minorities, especially as it applies to the higher education experience.

JULIE BOTTOMS/Student Programs Administrative Assistant (Cherokee)
Julie was raised in Louisiana, but has resided in Oklahoma for over 10 years. She has worked in a variety of fields, and enjoys working with people and technology. Julie is currently attending school, working toward a double major in General Business Management and Information Technology, with Networking Emphasis, at Oklahoma State University. While in school, she is also working on her Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification. Her past work experience includes working in Customer Service, Management, Networking, and various other Computer capacities. Having a deep admiration for the Native American people, Julie is excited to be a part of the AAIP family.
