Association of American Indian Physicians Diabetes Grant Program

"National Program to Promote Diabetes Education Strategies in Communities: The National Diabetes Education Program"

AAIP diabetes program supports the National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP) activities’ focus on reducing the burden of diabetes among high-risk populations. This program addresses the "Healthy People 2010" goals, which seeks to increase the longevity and quality of life and eliminate health disparities. Our goal is to increase the capacity of national and regional organizations to address the prevention of diabetes for those at risk and prevention of complications and premature mortality among American Indian/Alaska Natives through awareness and education efforts.
