AAIP Nationwide Diabetes Coalitions
Coalitions are community-based organizations that work with AIAN Communities to implement effective diabetes prevention and education strategies. Coalition Affiliates are the organizers of these coalitions and are members of the nationwide AAIP Diabetes Coalition Affiliate Network.
The AAIP Diabetes Program believes in the power of coalitions and in the impact that these groups of concerned community members coming together for a common cause can have in their own tribal areas.
We currently have nine established coalitions throughout the United States that are doing wonderful diabetes prevention and education outreach within their tribal communities. AAIP has committed to supporting these coalitions through guidance, trainings, materials/equipment, advocacy and nationwide partnerships.
