Introduction

The Native Research Network (NRN) began in 1997 as an informal network and is now a 501 (c) 3 organization. The NRN is administratively located at the Association of American Indian Physicians, 1225 Sovereign Row, Suite 103 , Oklahoma City , OK 73108 . Funding for the NRN is provided through a grant from the Office of Minority Health, Department of Health and Human Services, membership dues, and in-kind contributions from members. Membership is open to Native researchers and students, as well as a membership category for Non-Native persons who have conducted research in Native communities. An annual membership meeting is held at least once per year, usually in conjunction with the Indian Health Service Research Conference. Communication is on-going with a listserv and newsletters.

Past Projects

NRN members have presented Continuing Education Institutes at the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting entitled, "Conducting Research in Native Communities."
