AAIP Internship

Calling all Native high school juniors, seniors or recent graduates interested in pursuing a career in medicine in Indian Country!

The American Indian Youth Health Career Immersion Program seeks to provide students a comprehensive experience - over 10 days - in health career opportunities in Indian Country. Student immersion programs include interactive workshops, presentations and cultural experiences. Students shall experience shadowing health care professionals in health centers and participate in state-of-the-art clinical simulation activities.

Students will participate in a series of interactive presentations and discussions focused on American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) health policy including health disparities, self-governance and tribal sovereignty. Students shall also enjoy a variety of cultural activities.

Students are to be informed of scholarships and receive instruction on applying to college. Upon completion of the program, students will receive a $1,000.00 stipend.

The internship is in Tulsa, July 8-18, 2019.
