AAIP History: In 1971, AAIP was established as an educational, scientific, membership, charitable and nonprofit corporation. The values that began the program are adhered to today. AAIP currently has 464 members and provides educational programs, health initiatives, capacity building assistance, and many other services for American Indian and Alaska Native communities. From high school to post-secondary education AAIP is identifying, recruiting, mentoring, and preparing American Indian and Alaskan Natives for success in a medical discipline. Please visit Association of American Indian Physicians website at: www.aaip.org.

Students and the 47th Annual Meeting: Undergraduate and graduate students attend a portion of the Annual Meeting called the Pre-Admission Workshop (PAW). PAW brings together AAIP sponsors, physician members, public healthcare professionals, and American Native/Alaskan Native college students.
