What: 2nd Annual Native Youth Community of Care Conference

Where: South Puget Sound Community College Event Center, Lacey, WA

When: June 11, 2016 - 9:00AM to 4:30PM

 

The training is designed to disseminate effective culturally-based strategies to develop a
“Community of Care” for Native youth, that will Empower Native Youth through family and community
engagement. The goal is to provide Native Youth with the basic information and skills to empower
themselves to make informed decisions regarding their community, education, and behavioral health
and well-being.

Target Audience: Native Youth, Tribal members, educators, public health and social service
professionals, community members and community organizations

 
Training topics include:


·     Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and Arts programs and future professional opportunities for Native Youth

·     Introduction to the Health Professions

·     Human Trafficking/Anti Violence Prevention Training

·     Substance Abuse Prevention

·     Suicide Prevention and Behavioral Health Resources

 

Goal: To provide Native Youth with the basic information and skills to empower themselves to make
informed decisions regarding their community, education, and behavioral health and well-being.
