Committee advances legislation to increase accountability and transparency at the Indian Health Service

The U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs passed the Restoring Accountability in the Indian Health Service Act, which would enact comprehensive reforms at the Indian Health Service in an effort to increase transparency and accountability, as well as to improve patient care standards and strengthen recruitment and retention of healthcare providers.
