Regional Tribal Environmental Health Summit

The National Indian Health Board (NIHB) announces a Regional Tribal Environmental Health Summit to take place in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the Oklahoma City Convention Center on July 25 – 26, 2023. NIHB is partnering with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Environmental Health and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (CDC NCEH/ATSDR).

The summit will:

  • Feature Tribal leaders, environmental health practitioners, subject matter experts, and federal partners
  • Feature panel discussions and presentations on the topics of:
    • regional emergency preparedness
    • climate and health
    • safe water
    • Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)
    • brownfields/land reuse/revitalizations
    • new CDC online tribal public health data tool
  • Be designed for participants to:
    • exchange knowledge
    • share best practices
    • identify solutions to address environmental health and environmental justice/health equity issues affecting Tribal communities
    • expand regional partnerships in the environmental health field

All attendees and presenters can register using the Summit registration link below.  NIHB is able to provide limited travel assistance to Tribal attendees if needed. The registration form provides a place to indicate your travel needs. Lodging for the summit will be at the Hampton Inn & Suites Oklahoma City-Bricktown, 300 East Sheridan, Oklahoma City, OK 73104, 405-232-3600.
