working to improve public health

Projects & Programs

The Association of American Indian Physicians, together with its national partners, are educating and promoting health and wellness as both a lifestyle and a career path in American Indian and Alaskan Native communities across the country.

The Association of American Indian Physicians (AAIP) provides educational programs and support to American Indian and Alaskan Native students to encourage them to pursue careers in health professions or biomedical research.

AAIP also works to improve the public health, in Indian Country, through our national partnerships and cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of State, Tribal, Local and Territorial Support (OSTLTS).

Currently, AAIP has three programs with over ten projects that seek to promote, improve and sustain the overall health in Indian Country.
