The Association of American Indian Physicians (AAIP) is pleased to be featured as the March “COCA Partner Spotlight.” Clinician Outreach and Communication Activity (COCA) is designed to provide two-way communication between clinicians and the CDC about emerging health threats, such as pandemics, natural disasters, and terrorism. COCA partners with 176 professional organizations allowing for extended outreach to large populations of clinicians.
COCA partners with national medical and public health organizations to ensure that clinicians have timely, credible, and accurate information needed to provide care. COCA partners serve a wide variety of health care providers including: Physicians, Nurses, Physician Assistants, Pharmacists, Veterinarians, First Responders, Public Health Practitioners and Health Departments. COCA works in collaboration with these organizations to rapidly distribute information to clinicians. Through COCA, CDC is able to partner with medical and public health organizations to promote a safe and healthy nation.
The partnership with AAIP is critical to COCA’s ability to communicate with American Indian and Alaska Native physicians and provide information on public health emergencies, CDC guidance, health alert messages, and training opportunities.
