American Academy of Otolaryngology Under-Represented Minority Away Rotation Grants
The American Academy of Otolaryngology is launching a program this year to help introduce under-represented minority medical students to our field. There are two $1000 grants available to help mitigate the financial burden of doing an away rotation in otolaryngology. The application is open to medical students who are U.S. residents scheduled to graduate at the end of the 2014-2015 school year and who are members of an under-represented minority group. There are currently 24 otolaryngology programs participating. The grant awardees will be able to apply for an away rotation at any of the participating programs. During their rotation, they will be assigned a mentor who will meet with them weekly. The awardees will need to submit receipts for reimbursement and complete an evaluation form at the end of the rotation.
There is only a week and a half before the application deadline on Friday, April 25, 2014.
