Cooking Class Helps Tribes in KS Tackle Diabetes
Diabetes is one of the nation’s biggest and most costly health problems. It’s an even bigger problem among Native Americans. They’re more than twice as likely as whites to be afflicted with the disease, and to die from it. We have two reports on efforts underway to reduce the toll diabetes is taking on members of the four tribes with reservations in Kansas. The first is from health reporter Bryan Thompson.
