Call for Concurrent Session Proposals
Inspiring Intersections:
A Call to Collaborate, Challenge, and Change
A Summit Sponsored by the Group on Diversity and Inclusion (GDI) and the Group on Women in Medicine and Science (GWIMS)
Westin Mission Hills May 4-7, 2017 Palm Springs, CA
The Call for Concurrent Sessions is now open! The submission deadline is November 21, 2016 at 11:59pm PT. Acceptance notifications will be sent by December 16, 2016. This summit is the signature event for individuals in academic medicine who work to advance diversity and inclusion, women in medicine and science, equity, and/or community engagement.

This year, you have the option to submit sessions that highlight:
• Collaboration between offices or programs at your institution or with other institutions • Challenges you’re facing in your WIMS or diversity and inclusion offices, and solutions or lessons learned you can share with the community • Organizational excellence you have achieved through programming, research, or innovations to create a center of excellence fair
The theme of this summit is Inspiring Intersections and each day of the summit’s 3-day programming will revolve around a different sub-theme to enhance the participant’s experiences. Days 1, 2 and 3 themes are:
Collaborate with your GDI and GWIMS colleagues to find shared solutions, intersecting issues, and discover ways to work more closely together to solve our most challenging problems.
Challenge yourself to rethink the way you currently work in diversity, inclusion, and equity toward a deeper and more transformative approach to professional development, organizational excellence, and community engagement.
Change your paradigm based on the sessions and conversations you participate in during the summit to advance your efforts in diversity, inclusion, and equity to new heights.
