Presentation Objectives:
The objectives for the session are to provide junior scholars who have a demonstrated commitment to diabetes research in AI/AN contexts with access to health and policy research experts and to existing AI/AN diabetes datasets in order to foster collaboration, generate plans for the development of research analyses of existing data, and propel the publishing of research manuscripts and submission of grant proposals. There is a great need to advance analyses of existing data to inform research, community, and policy development efforts aimed at reducing health disparities facing AI/AN peoples and preventing diabetes. This institute will provide key tools and time for participants to plan and develop analyses of existing data.
Participants Will Learn:
- The nature of at least one existing dataset on AI/AN diabetes prevention
- Existing health policy trends informing diabetes research analysis needs
- Existing AI/AN community health trends informing diabetes research analysis needs
