AAIP has longstanding partnerships with the Four Corners Alliance (University of Colorado, University of Utah, University of New Mexico, University of Arizona - Tucson, and University of Arizona - Phoenix) and University of Minnesota, Duluth to host annual Pre-Admission Workshops (PAW).  The PAW is an event held to bring together AAIP member physicians, AI/AN college students, public health professionals, university admissions professionals and other interested individuals with the goal of providing students with the information and skills necessary to succeed in the medical and health-profession school admission process.

If you are interested in pursuing a career in the allied health or medicine fields, then we encourage you to apply!

Workshop topics include:

  • Selecting a professional school
  • Admissions tests (MCAT)
  • Personal statements
  • AMCAS application process
  • Financial aid and scholarship resources
  • Interview process including a mock interview
  • Physician and medical student panel presentations

This 2-day event is aimed at addressing common challenges encountered by students in the health professional application process.  The curriculum focuses on skills necessary for successful application and admittance to health professional schools. The Four Corners PAW usually takes place in the Spring, while the University of Minnesota, Duluth PAW takes place during the AAIP Annual Meeting & Health Conference in mid-Summer.

Stayed tuned for the 2019 PAW application.
