2025 ACC Internal Medicine Cardiology Program

Eligibility
To participate in the IM Cardiology Program, an applicant must be a:
- Resident in good standing at an Internal Medicine Residency Program located within the United States
- OR an individual who has completed residency, interested in applying to cardiology fellowship
- Member of an Underrepresented in Cardiology (URC) community (i.e. Indigenous Peoples)
- Medical Resident Member of ACC (COMPLIMENTARY)
Application Materials
Your application must include the following:
- Statement of Interest in Cardiology and the IM Cardiology Program
- Curriculum Vitae
- Letter of Good Standing in your residency program including your training dates
- Letter of Recommendation
Application Upload
For your application, you will need to upload a SINGLE PDF file, containing all of your application materials, using the following naming convention. Failure to follow this process will jeopardize your candidacy.

Complimentary ACC Membership
ACC membership is mandatory to participate in the program, and the application is available here: https://memberapp.acc.org/.
To become a Medical Resident member, you will need to upload a sponsorship letter confirming your interest in cardiovascular medicine from your training director or a current Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
**You may use your “Letter of Good Standing in your residency program including your training dates” from your application to meet this requirement.**
You will be asked for your ACC Member ID as part of the application. The ID number can be found under “My Profile” in the right hand corner next to your profile photo.
Mentorship
Mentorship is a vital component of the IM Cardiology program. Due to the limited number of mentors available, we are unable to guarantee mentors for PGY-1s. Priority is given to PGY-3s, followed by PGY-2s.
