December 10, 2024
The University of Pittsburgh Department of Emergency Medicine offers a Summer Research and Clinical Immersion (SRI) program that provides pre-medical and medical students with a diverse, structured, 8-week in-person experience in the Department. Components of the program include:
- Working with a researcher/faculty member in the Department on a mentored research project
- Lectures and Journal Club
- Emergency Medicine workshops
- Clinical shadowing
Limited funding is available to support students, particularly those who have had material disadvantage and/or a long path travelled to their present positions and future health care goals. Funding for this program is supported by the NIH and local foundation grants.
