AAIP Announces the recipients of the 2024 Physician of the Year and Lifetime Achievement awards

The Association of American Indian Physicians (AAIP) proudly announces the recipients of its annual Physician of the Year and Lifetime Achievement awards. These distinguished honors recognize outstanding contributions and dedication to the medical profession within the American Indian community.
Physician of the Year: Dr. Bret R. Benally Thompson
Dr. Thompson has been named the AAIP Physician of the Year for his exceptional clinical skills, compassionate patient care, and commitment to advancing healthcare for American Indian/Alaska Native populations. Dr. Thompson has demonstrated exemplary leadership and innovation in their field, significantly improving health outcomes and advocating for the well-being of indigenous communities.
Lifetime Achievement Award: Dr. Donald Warne
The Lifetime Achievement Award is bestowed upon Dr. Warne for his extraordinary career and enduring contributions to medicine and the American Indian/Alaska Native community. With decades of service, Dr. Warne has been a trailblazer, mentor, and advocate, leaving an indelible mark on the medical profession and inspiring future generations of American Indian/Alaska Native physicians.
