ANAMS BNGAP-NBME Academic Medicine Writing Fellowship Application

The NBME x BNGAP fellowship purpose is to guide learners in the development,
implementation, evaluation, and submission of an educational project to MedEdPORTAL for
publication consideration. Fellows will be advised by BNGAP faculty and /or members with a
track record of publishing. A max total of $2,750 will be allotted to each team ($250 for
supplies; $1,000 for learner co-author(s) and $500 for faculty advisor(s) once quality project
submitted to MedEdPORTAL; an additional $1000 if and when project is accepted to
MedEdPORTAL)


Applicants must be current members of ANAMS, APAMSA, LMSA, MSPA, and/or SNMA.

Preference will be given to applications:

a) At least one or more faculty advisors with a track record of publishing in MedEdPORTAL
b) Content focused on maximizing the roles of chapter advisors and/or chapter student
leaders; optimizing the relationship between chapter advisors and chapter student leaders to
achieve mutually beneficial outcomes; or a health equity topic of relevance to the Native
American diaspora, Asian diaspora, Latina/o/x/e, Hispanic, or of Spanish Origin + diaspora,
LGBTQ+ diaspora, or African-American/Black diaspora.
c) Led by a medical student, resident, or fellow

Complete application must be submitted by March 21, 2024 and includes:

b) Project Description and CV of lead author submitted as a document or pdf (Project
Description should include project title; co-author(s) names, email addresses, title, educational
role, and their project roles; in 1000 words or less the purpose of the project, up to 3
educational objectives, how the project will be interactive, and how the project fills a gap in the
MedPORTAL literature)

Submit project proposal by March 21, 2024, 11:59pm PST

  • Acceptance by April 1, 2024
  • Orientation (Saturday, April 13, 10am EST-4pm EST REQUIRED)
  • MedEdPORTAL submission expected by December 21, 2024.
