Apply for the Summer Health Professions Education Program by Feb. 5

Here are a few reminders when assisting potential applicants:
1. Applicants should submit their online SHPEP application by February 5, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time to meet the deadline.
2. Applicants should request one recommendation from a prehealth advisor, college professor within their major field of study, a high school science or math teacher, or an employer from a health-related field to submit a reference on their behalf. Recommendations must be received by February 5, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern
3. Time to meet the deadline. Applicants are required to list their letter writer in the SHPEP reference section of the application, and letter writers will receive an email from the AAMC Letter Writer application service with the next steps.
4. All official transcripts must be postmarked/time stamped by the deadline, February 5, 2025. Transcripts received with a later postmark date will not be processed.
5. It can take up to 10 business days to process application materials after it is received by the SHPEP National Program Office.
