The Planning Committee invites submissions for Oral and Poster presentations on all topics pertaining to Indigenous child health. Submissions will be accepted from individuals working with Indigenous populations, and are not limited to medical providers.
ORAL PRESENTATIONS
Oral presentations (15 minutes) offer an opportunity for community-based researchers or those involved in community programs to share their findings in a smaller, interactive format. Submissions on similar topics will be grouped together. Expected attendance is 25-50 delegates.
POSTER PRESENTATIONS
Poster presentations provide community-based researchers or those involved in community programs with the opportunity to display their findings in a poster format. Presenters will have the opportunity to informally discuss their findings with conference delegates during two 60-minute “idea sharing” sessions.
Presenters are expected to register for the conference and cover all expenses related to their participation.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
The Planning Committee will evaluate submissions based on:
- Educational relevance to target audience
- Demonstration of positive outcomes/practice change/replicable models of child health care services and health promotion programs.
- Demonstration of unique ways to improve health care services and programs to Indigenous children
- Timeliness of content
- Clarity of content
Special consideration will be given to submissions:
- Representing hypothesis testing
- Including the sharing of useful data
- By Indigenous (i.e., First Nations, Inuit, Métis, American Indian or Alaska Native) communities, professionals or students
- Demonstrating exemplary partnerships between health care professionals and tribes/communities
- Covering health care, health promotion, and prevention topics that are common to Indigenous populations internationally
The Planning Committee reserves the right to refine session content and/or speaker selection.
